How does Pobuca Outlook add-in appear?

  • In native Outlook, the Pobuca add-in button is located in the ribbon for both read and compose mode, as depicted below:

Login

When you launch the add-in a welcome screen with two options will appear. If you already have an account, you may log in either by using your Pobuca credentials and selecting the “Log in” button or by selecting the “Login with Microsoft” button and insert your Microsoft account credentials.  If you don’t have an account, you may sign up with your work email for a free Pobuca account.

Add-in Features

  • Search:You can search for contacts, organizations and co-workers just by typing a valid term. The search might return at most five (5) cards for each of the three categories. The cards of each category may display a part of the following information. 

Contact cards information:

  • first name
  • last name
  • job title
  • organization name
  • work and personal email
  • work, home and mobile phones
  • work, home and organization addresses

Organization cards information:

  • name
  • phone
  • email
  • addresses

Co-worker cards information:

  • first name
  • last name
  • job title
  • organization name
  • work and personal email
  • work, home and mobile phones
  • work, home and organization addresses

  • Settings: By clicking on the user icon at the top right side of the add-in you may copy your info, update your profile, get help, spread your love for Pobuca or logout. (Picture 10)

 

  • Add: Use the add button (+) to paste contact info, add co-workers, import contacts and create a new contact or a new organization. By selecting any of these options, the Pobuca Web app launches. (Picture 11) In compose mode, there is an additional option, to paste email signature in the email body.  (Picture 12)

 

  • Scan the email body for contacts: The Pobuca add-in scans the email body and finds all the information that are required to create a contact. By clicking on the icon at the top left side of the add-in a list of contact cards that were found in the email body is displayed. Some of the enlisted contacts may already exist in your database. The remaining are new contacts and you have the option to add each one of them as well by clicking on the add button. In this case the Pobuca Web app launches. . (Picture 13)

Card functionalities

Each contact card, organization card and co-worker card in both read and compose mode has the following functionalities:

  1. By clicking on the full name the Pobuca Web app launches and the corresponding information are displayed.
  2. By clicking on a phone number, the default desktop call app (e.g. skype) will launch to make this call.
  3. The globe button displays a dropdown list with all available addresses for the corresponding card. By selecting an address, the Google Maps page is loaded in the web browser to display its location. (Picture 17)
  4. If you hover your mouse over any information/field, an icon that allows you to copy that information appears. By clicking on that icon, the corresponding information is copied to your clipboard. (Picture 16)

Additionally, in read mode only, each contact card, organization card and co-worker card has the following functionalities:

  1. By clicking on an email address, the email composer of the default email client launches in order to send an email to that address as a recipient.
  2. The 3-blue-dots button on the top right side of the card, displays the option to copy the card information to clipboard. (Picture 18)

Additionally, in compose mode only, each contact card, organization card and co-worker card has the following functionalities:

  1. By clicking on an email address, a dropdown list appears with three options (‘To’, ‘Cc’, ‘Bcc’) to add this email address as a recipient. (Picture 20)
  2. The 3-blue-dots button on the top right side of the card displays two options, either to copy the card information to clipboard or to add that information to the email body. (Picture 19)

Manual installation of the Pobuca add-in

This section describes the steps required to manually install the Pobuca add-in for Outlook Office 365, Outlook Web app and Native Outlook add-in.

  • Outlook Office 365

The steps you should follow in order to install the Pobuca add-in in Office 365 are the following:

  1. Login to your Outlook Office 365 account.
  2. Select the gear button that appears at the top right side of your screen. (Picture 21)
  3. Select the “Manage add-ins” option. (Picture 21)

      4. Click on the “Click here to add a custom add-in”. (Picture 22)

      5. In the dropdown list that appears, select the “Add from URL” option to install the add-in. (Picture 23)

      6. In the pop up insert the URL: http://pobucaofficeaddin.azurewebsites.net/manifest.xml (Picture 24)

      7. Once the installation is completed, the Pobuca add-in will be depicted in the “My add-ins” section. (Picture 25)

  • Outlook Web app

The steps you should follow in order to install the Pobuca add-in in Outlook Web app are the following:

  1. Login to your Outlook Web app account.
  2. Select the gear button that appears at the top right side of your screen. (Picture 26)
  3. Select the “Manage apps” option. (Picture 26)

      4. Click on the add (+) button and select the “Add from URL” option from the dropdown list. (Picture 27)

  • Native Outlook add-in

If you have already installed the add-in in the Outlook Web app, it will automatically appear in the Native Outlook as well.

Alternatively, you may select the button “Manage add-ins” from your “Account Information”.  By clicking on this button the Outlook Web app launches and you should follow the steps described above. (Picture 30)
